Business Controller – Global Management Capital_______________________________________________________________________

Location : Laval (4204, boul. Industriel, Laval)
Hybrid mode: 3 days at the office and 2 days remotely
Type of employment: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours)

THE ROLE
This key position will be part of the Global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, reporting directly to the CAPEX Director. In this Manager role, you will provide financial guidance on capital expenditure governance, a central pillar in achieving the company's strategic goal. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate across departments and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Capital Expenditure Budgeting Process
Consolidate annual capital requirements.
Facilitate the approval of the capital plan and own the capital reallocation process
Intake and review the necessary documentation.
Supporting Business Case creation
Define and maintain the business case guideline and standard template
Assist with the review of business cases
Educate stakeholders on business case best practices
Capital Expenditure Reporting Process
Define and maintain CAPEX reporting templates and requirements with the Alignment of the Accounting, Controlling and Tax teams.
Capital Expenditure Ad-Hoc Request and analysis
Assist with special projects and various requests.
Capital Expenditure Tracking and Analysis
Coordinate, report, analyze and provide insight on investment spending, and returns
Coordinate to provide CapEx forecast over 12 months (Budget) / 18 months (Rolling CapEx) / 5 years (Strategic Plan)
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing team objective as needed.
Identify opportunities to enhance data-related processes, tools, and workflows.
Collaborate with internal teams to drive innovation and efficiency improvements while having a strong drive to Make IT Easy
Define the investment categorization with its expected return.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
We want you to join our team! Here's what we're looking for:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
CPA title required
Experience:
7-10 years of relevant experience preferably in financial analysis, strategic planning, or budgeting and forecasting
Knowledge and skills:
Advanced knowledge of Excel; working knowledge PowerPoint, Word, LongView and SharePoint. And an aptitude to learn new tools / systems
Experience working with accounting applications such as PDI & JDE would be a plus
Experience with Power BI would be a strong asset
Strong analytical and quantitative abilities; strong attention to detail while being able to synthesis information.
Experience working with large and complex datasets
Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
Comfortable working independently, in cross-functional teams, and in a global role
Willing to adapt to a dynamic business environment, balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
Comfortable initiating actions and taking responsibility to secure agreed output
Collaborate effectively and build professional networks
Motivated by challenging tasks and complex projects across many countries and regions
Language skills:
Bilingualism is mandatory (French and English) in both written and spoken languages, as the person will be required to serve English-speaking regions.
