Corporate Pharmacy Purchasing Analyst
CPS Solutions, LLC Clinical Services Division
Puerto Rico Home - Based   As a full time, exempt Corporate Pharmacy Purchasing Analyst with CPS Solutions, LLC you are a vital member of our CPS® Pharmacy Purchasing team.  In this role, you will oversee purchasing-related functions and provide administrative purchasing support to CPS® hospital pharmacies throughout Puerto Rico.   Specific duties include:

  • Implement and maintain purchasing guidelines to maximize inventory management and comply with national and local pharmaceutical vendor and distributor contracts
  • Price, audit and complete purchasing reports and analyses
  • Act as a liaison with distribution companies and Group Purchasing Organizations
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations related to wholesaler and supplier contracts 
  • Evaluate purchasing trends and provide budget efficiency related recommendations 
  • Conduct on-site and off-site evaluation and training of buyers or purchasing agents
  • Oversee inventory
  • Assist with purchasing audits
  • Oversee pharmacy Technicians/Purchasing Agents.
  • Travel as needed to hospital sites, sometimes on short notice.
  • Travel of up to 75% or more within Puerto Rico may be required.
  • May provide consulting services as needed in pharmacy automation installation and support.
This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Purchasing & Data Management.   Schedule:  This exempt, full-time salaried position works at least 40 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday, with some occasional long and irregular hours; including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary. This position may require travel to hospital sites on short notice.  The ability to travel up to 75% Puerto Rice wide is required for this role.    Starting Pay: $52,000-$62,000 annually    Required Qualifications:
  • Must Reside in Puerto Rico
  • Must speak fluent Spanish
  • Must speak fluent English 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including: Creating and using complex formulas for data analysis, designing and analyzing pivor tables. Ability to structure spreadsheets for decision-making 
  • 3+ years  purchasing experience in at least two different acute care hospital pharmacy settings  
  • GPO and Wholesaler contracting
  • Unit dose area, IV additives, TPNs, chemotherapy admixtures
  • Purchasing/inventory control
  • Pharmacy computer order entry
  • Billing manual/automation
  • Demonstrated skill with personal computers and applications (Windows, Word Processing, and Excel Spreadsheets)
  • Supervising Pharmacy Technicians/Purchasing Agents
Demonstrated Skills Required:
  • An understanding of pharmacy service and pharmacy experience
  • Detail orientated and a high degree of professionalism
  • Ability to work independently by exercising judgment and discretion
  • Ability to travel nationwide
  • Ability to understand and work with spreadsheets and have a good understanding of wholesaler reports and GPO pricing
  • Expert level experience and knowledge in pharmacy automation installation and support

Hospital Requirements: (may be required)

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
  • Hep B3 Series (or declination) 
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th  
  • COVID Vaccine
