Developing Excellent Clinical Programs for Hospital Pharmacies across the U.S.  - up to 100%  travel.  

Our Vice President, Clinical Program Development, with CPS Solutions, LLC will spearhead the strategic advancement of clinical initiatives across hospital services, with a focus on optimizing medication use and driving measurable improvements in patient care. This role will lead the evolution of the CPS suite of clinical programs—enhancing assessments, reports, monitors, and support tools to ensure relevance, scalability, and excellence. Acting as a key clinical liaison, the VP will collaborate with internal teams, client-facing stakeholders, and organizational leaders to deliver actionable insights and resources that elevate clinical quality. Additionally, the role will play a pivotal part in shaping future healthcare leaders by mentoring CPS Health Equity and Systems Thinking fellows, as well as PGY1 and PGY2 residents, fostering innovation and equity in clinical practice.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Develop training and educational modules focused on clinical and quality initiatives that meet Pharmacy Practice Standards, professional and accreditation standards, and state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Promote clinically rational drug therapy with development of new (or expansion of existing) pharmacy practice programs, drug therapy policies, and maintenance of a corporate wide multi-disciplinary drug surveillance and utilization program focused on ensuring appropriate utilization of medications.
  • Communicate information and provide clinical support to CPS staff and clients using skills that demonstrate sensitivity and tolerance in a culturally diverse society.  Function effectively with individuals, groups, and organizations.
  • Respond to information requests utilizing sources of information available and applicable to the specific questions.  Develop and present appropriate educational materials for a given audience.
  • Demonstrate expertise in medical writing, biostatistics and project management.  Maintain professional competence to meet current and future needs of the company.
  • Presenting information succinctly and clearly in appropriate medical language to health care colleagues with grammatically correct formal written communications (i.e., competencies, monographs, newsletters) while following standard medical writing styles.
  • Use written, spoken, audio-visual, and electronic formats to deliver clear, organized, and comprehensive communications to CPS staff across the company while tailoring to the audience's educational level.
  • Critically evaluate patient factors and laboratory findings, which may affect therapeutic decisions/recommendations used in developing initiatives. 
  • Maintain currency and competency in the literature of pharmacy practice and health care research and development.  Continually reviews the primary and secondary literature of clinical practice and operations outcomes analysis/assessment to identify applicable models/means of inclusion in company practice.
  • Carry out other duties assigned by the EVP of Clinical Services that support the achievement of established strategic and operational goals.
  • Identify, retrieve, understand, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information to make informed, rational, and ethical decisions
  • Serve as a key resource with high standards for pharmacy practice excellence to support teams and clients.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Vice President, and other department stakeholders as necessary to develop and review clinical consensus documents, drug utilization management initiatives, and other new relevant programs
  • Maintain currency and competency in the literature of pharmacy practice and health care research and development.  Continually review the primary and secondary literature of clinical practice and operations outcomes analysis/assessment to identify applicable models/means of inclusion in company practice.


Schedule: This full-time, exempt position works primarily Monday-Friday days with evenings and weekends as needed. Travel away from home location up to 100% of time.

Salary Range: $175k-$185k annually (based upon related work experience and qualifications) plus bonus eligibility.

Qualifications:

  • Pharm.D. or MS in Pharmacy degree and at least 2 years of post-graduate residency training
  • Certification by Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties  
  • Currently licensed as a Pharmacist, in good standing
  • Demonstrated skills leading and motivating teams to review, develop, implement and monitor clinical programs, therapeutic initiatives and other drug use policies and practices
  • In depth knowledge of pathophysiology, interpretation of diagnostic criteria, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics.
  • Proficient in assessing the use and application of new medications and medication technology, including complex equipment and delivery systems. 
  • Experience with computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet software and pharmacy information systems. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to participate effectively on interdisciplinary teams and committees.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and evidence-based evaluation skills
  • Residence near a major airport
  • Ability to travel away from home location by car or air 50% of time
  • Ability to pass a company Motor Vehicle (MVR) background check
