Job Description
The Agile Transformation Office (ATO), a team within CVS Health's Enterprise Digital department, is responsible for enabling successful execution of Enterprise Digital's programs across organizational boundaries, following Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles. We operate as a high-functioning software product organization with a strong agile practice and an emphasis on inclination for continuous improvement that empowers our colleagues to deliver innovative, personalized digital experiences that make an impact in their lives of our customers.

The Agile Manager will lead a team of Scrum Masters and be responsible for developing a team of Scrum Masters, including hiring, mentorship, and professional development.

This role reports to the Director of Scrum Masters that oversees our Enterprise Digital teams in our Agile Transformation Office (ATO), which is responsible for enabling successful execution of Enterprise Digital's programs across organizational boundaries, following Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles.

The Agile Manager will:
• Manage a team of Scrum Masters who each lead their own teams within or outside of the Agile Release Trains (ART)
o Encourage and facilitate staff development through the performance review process, mentoring, coaching, shadowing, and other techniques
o Foster a positive team culture that encourages continuous improvement, team empowerment, and the development of agile practices
o Provides continuous performance feedback to enhance personal execution on a regular cadence
o Coaches and develops less experienced members of the team
o The Scrum Masters on this team are servant leaders and coaches for an Agile Scrum team. The Scrum Master's major responsibilities include facilitation of team events, managing team processes and assisting the team in achieving their commitments. Scrum Masters escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.

• Leads initiatives, as part of the Lean Agile Center of Excellence (LACE), to continually mature and refine our agile processes
• Part of the leadership team responsible for setting CVS Digital's scrum practice direction
• Demonstrate best practices, leading by example for how the role of Scrum Master is executed
• Support and promote cross-team sharing and learning opportunities, including community of practice efforts across the scrum masters and other agile disciplines
• Interview and hire scrum masters, including full time employees and contractors (when needed).
o Assess current and future staffing needs, ensuring we maintain the right balance of scrum masters to support our agile teams
• Able to temporarily step into the Scrum Master role for 1-2 teams temporarily as part of a staff transition plan

Required Qualifications
5+ years of Agile leadership experience with proven Agile and facilitation skills
5+ years experience in a Scrum Master role
2+ years management experience

Preferred Qualifications
Scrum Master (SSM) certification strongly preferred, some level of SAFe certification required

Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Program consultant (SPC) or SAFe

Experience with consumer-facing digital products, cloud platform technology, and/or advanced analytics enabled products is helpful

Strong meeting facilitation skills

Experience with Systems Thinking

Strong analytical, oral and written communication, presentation skills; Advanced MS Office skills

Ability to navigate through ambiguity, set direction, and influence those not under direct line of management

Technical aptitude to support program's use of work management and collaboration tools

Bachelor's degree preferred.
