Successful candidates will play a crucial role in ensuring the observability, reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems as we continue to expand. As a Senior Observability Engineer, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing the stability, scalability, and performance of our rapidly evolving infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, software engineers, infrastructure engineers, and product managers, to build observability solutions that help us maintain and optimize our systems as they scale to handle our growing user base and workload. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication to ensure that systems are not only operational but also optimized and aligned with business goals. *This position is remote based anywhere on the East coast. *Required Qualifications* * 8+ years of experience in IT operations, system administration, or engineering * 3 + years experience leading people and/or leading large-scale projects * 2+ years experience working with automation concepts and tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Python to develop configuration, deployment, and orchestration workflows *Preferred Qualifications* * AppDynamics Certified Performance Analyst * AppDynamics Certified Administrator * AppDynamics Certified Implementer * AppDynamics Certified Developer * Proven expertise in observability, monitoring, and performance management of large-scale, distributed systems * Strong knowledge of modern observability tools (e.g., App Dynamics, Cisco Cloud Observability, Prometheus, Grafana, App Dynamics, ELK stack, DynaTrace, New Relic) and related practices * Experience with both legacy systems and modern cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, microservices, serverless) * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders, presenting findings and plans, and documenting systems and processes * Ability to own problems end-to-end, and willingness to obtain any required knowledge to get the job done * Ability to lead matrix teams to achieve complex goals with a strong sense of accountability and integrity * Ability to break down complex issues and develop innovative, comprehensive solutions * Excellent project and program management skills, with a track record of leading complex initiatives to successful completion * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering actionable insights and improvements *Education* * Bachelor's degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience) *Business Overview* Bring your heart to CVS Health Every one of us at CVS Health shares a single, clear purpose: Bringing our heart to every moment of your health.
