The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of belonging, diversity, equity and inclusion.

Must have the ability to teach in both a classroom and clinical setting and be particularly adept in the areas of Pediatrics & Obstetrics.  The ability to work in a variety of settings and promote student growth and success is essential.  This requires the use of excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to a variety of constituents along with solid pedagogy skills that promote learning.  In addition, must actively participate in and accomplish items that are required for accreditation for the discipline, division, and college. Must actively support student retention initiatives that promote program completion.  Must be available to work evenings, weekends, spring/summer, and online if needed. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities Are as Follows

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and vision of Delta College. 
  • Support and assess student learning and academic achievement to ensure student success. 
  • Develop appropriate innovation in teaching and learning to meet differing learning styles and needs. 
  • Collaborate voluntarily and energetically with colleagues in the academic discipline and with other faculty colleagues to develop effective learning experiences for a diverse student body. 
  • Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of diversity. 
  • Integrate international and intercultural experiences in the college, community, and curriculum. 
  • Serve the community through outreach activities. 
  • Make effective and innovative use of appropriate technology in the performance of the listed responsibilities and accountabilities. 
  • Participate in shared governance as a full member of the academic community. 
  • Teach at least 30 equated credit hours annually in a variety of settings including day, evening, weekend, on campus, off campus, online and in-person. 
  • Commit to ongoing educational and professional growth. 
  • Engage fully in course, discipline, and program development. 
  • Attend and participate in discipline, division, and college meetings. 
  • Possess minimum technology skills and understanding of a course management system.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Current or obtainable Michigan License.
  • Minimum of two years clinical experience in the acute care hospital setting especially in the areas of Obstetric and Pediatric nursing.
  • Current or obtainable BLS Certification.
  • One Year of college level didactic and/or clinical teaching.
