Highlights of this position include:

  • Competitive Starting Salary $258,000 - $313,000
  • Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4:30pm. NO CALL
  • 80% Administrative; 10% Clinical; 10% Education
  • Responsible for the care of our Veterans with disorders diagnosing and treating dysfunctions as a result of injury, illness or disabling conditions, in both the inpatient and outpatient (Alexandria VA Health Care Systems and Southern Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC); i.e. Lafayette CBOC, Jennings CBOC and Lake Charles CBOC) settings as well as administrative duties related to the successful operation of the PM&RS service line
  • Manage both medical and procedural based pain care, including MAT (suboxone)
  • Will be expected to provide subject matter expertise and advice to facility leadership
  • Performs a wide range of medical duties covering rehabilitation medicine; examines and assesses patients, develops and manages a comprehensive and rehabilitation program
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for consultation on medical management of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord, other neurologic and musculoskeletal associated types of care
  • Regularly attends PM&R Service, and medical staff meetings, Pain Management member
  • Supervisory oversight
Additional Requirements:
  • Board Certified MD/DO
  • Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • 7+ years' experience as a physiatrist
  • Required: DEA X Waiver (certification for prescribing Suboxone)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
  • Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
