Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs comprehensive psychiatric evaluations on Veterans who suffer from depression, anxiety, psychosis, PTSD, substance abuse and other psychiatric disorders using a patient-centered team approach.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in support of the Behavioral Health multidisciplinary team with responsibilities of providing clinical education, coordinating consults, and triaging specialty clinic referrals.
  • Directly provides a full range of present-day, evidence-based therapeutic interventions including diagnostic assessment, mental status examination, psychotherapy, medication evaluation & management.
  • Ensures all clinical care is delivered in accordance with TJC, CARF, HIPPA, VA policies and procedures, clinical practice guidelines, national statutes and regulations, medical record documentation, and mandatory continuing education.
  • Participates effectively in team meetings and treatment planning conferences and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members in the coordination of comprehensive patient care.

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Details:
Salary $265,000 - $300,000 per year Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay). This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
