The Highlights:

Reporting to the Director of Admissions Systems and Operation, the Associate Director - Database Manager/Programmer serves as the lead resource in Recruitment Systems and Technology for management of databases and application servers, all application programming of recruitment systems and technologies, technical maintenance, and the development interface with IS for key joint projects. The Associate Director ensures that the recruitment database(s) and other technical resources administered by the office are operational, current, and adequately customized to meet the needs of external and internal university end users for the purposes of recruitment planning, activities and communications. This position will also supervise the work of the Data Control Assistant. The Associate Director is the point person for issue identification and resolution pertaining to software upgrades, system error trouble shooting, any necessary application programming as well as serving as the functional and development IS liaison within Recruitment Systems and Technology. The Associate Director plays a key role in CRM system migrations and implementation. This technical position requires software skills, c.programming experience, and functional business and process knowledge.


What You'll Do:

  • Manage and maintain the CRM recruitment system databases. This includes the identification of necessary functionality changes, development of changes, and creation and execution of testing plans of the recruitment databases with IS and software vendor. Works with Director to identify and establish the scope of any necessary system changes. Directs efforts between IS, external software vendor(s) and other functional groups within Recruitment Systems and Technology based on business need and technical continuous improvement. 
  • Assist the Director in the implementation, integration, and maintenance of various parts of the student recruitment CRM enrollment management system and appropriate data and storage structures. Provide functional and technical requirements to the data feed structures and translation maintenance between CRM and SIS, as well as development work affecting data translation from the SIS to CRM used for all Undergrad and Grad application and recruitment processes. Provide technical and functional requirements for the recruitment system business rules supporting CRM and other student outreach processes and functionality.
  • Provide regular technical programming assistance in CRM as necessary to facilitate the work flow needs for graduate and undergraduate application and recruitment programming and plans including functional/business knowledge of processes affecting system wide features and availability.
  • Supervise one Assistant Director. 
  • Data Management/Reporting. Ensure quality and availability of divisional enrollment management data.
      

What You'll Need:

  • Must possess a BS in a technically related field with a preference for an MS degree in Computer Science, Networking, Software development. 
  • Candidates should have at least 5 years of overall experience and at least 3 years of experience in the configuration and use of relational databases. Preference will be given to candidates with experience with some combination of Relational Databases, SQL Server Technology, Slate, PeopleSoft, FoxPro, open source platform technology. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience configuring and utilizing various software tools, including SQL, SQL Server, FoxPro, HTML, MS Office. 
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to interact effectively with colleagues and University personnel of varying technical skill levels.
  • High degree of working knowledge and skill in software programs and operating systems essential to the operation and function of admissions.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and take initiative to resolve them.
  • Ability to structure and prioritize activities to utilize and maximize resources, productivity and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and comprehend additional technical skills.
  • Knowledge of business functions and processes related to recruitment technology.
  • Supervision experience desirable.
  • Position requires working during times when system maintenance and upgrades is optimal. This may include working some evenings and weekends as necessary.
