The Highlights: Reporting to the Director of the First-Year Program, the Program Assistant will support First-Year Program operations, specifically in the areas of student enrollment, hiring for the Chicago Quarter Program, website maintenance, and ongoing efforts to promote and increase visibility of the program. This position will also serve as a Staff Professional in a Chicago Quarter class.


What You'll Do:

  • Program Operations Assistance:
    o Assist with administrative processes, enrollment and registration and database management for Chicago Quarter and Focal Point Seminar 
    o Provide administrative support for faculty, staff, and student employee hiring process 
    o Support processes related to course expenses and record-keeping for program budget
  • Marketing and Communications: 
    o Assist with website updates, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance 
    o Strategize with program staff to re-focus program newsletter and assist with creation and distribution 
    o Share news and feature stories about First-Year Program and First-Year Program faculty accolades and accomplishments through program website and social media
    o Serve as a Chicago Quarter Staff Professional (includes a stipend in addition to base salary).
  • This position will not have accountability for departmental budget, but will support budgetary tasks.

 

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of previous experience working in Higher Education preferred
  • 1-3 years of previous professional office experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook
  • Familiarity with DePaul systems is desired (D2L, People Soft, SharePoint, Slate)
  • Familiarity with the following programs are a plus: Google Suite, Canva
  • Demonstrated writing and editing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish projects independently, with minimal supervision, and to work effectively on a team
  • Knowledge and understanding of DePaul's mission and the First Year Program
  • The person in this position is also expected to serve as a Staff Professional in a Chicago Quarter class.
  • This position will be on location at the Lincoln Park Campus.
