Description:  MIddle/High School Music Teachers-Matsu Borough School District
 

Alaska's 2nd largest school district is looking to hire MIddle/High School Music Teachers for the upcoming school year!  We are located 45 minutes outside of Anchorage, AK.  We have 19,000+ students across 49 schools.  Our communities include: Glacier View, Sutton, Palmer, Wasilla, Butte, Knik-Fairview, Meadow Lakes, Big Lake, Houston, Willow, Talkeetna and Trapper Creek.

Our Mission is to prepare all students for success.

Position Description: To teach assigned Music courses through a variety of instructional techniques both the required and supplementary subject matter and skills within district curriculum. To create an excellent classroom environment which is conducive to learning for each individual student. 

Salary:  $56,445 – $88,646 Depending on verification of service and education. MSBSD has a competitive Salary Schedule with an accelerated step advancement. Applicants can bring a maximum of 3 years' experience. We pay an additional $3,000 bonus PER YEAR for National Certification.

Leave: Each Certified Teacher receives 4 paid personal leave days at the beginning of the year and accrues 1.33 sick leave days each month of employment.

Retirement: MSBSD is a member of the State of Alaska Teachers Retirement System.

Licensing Requirements (position requirements at entry):  Alaska Type A Teaching Certificate.  Preferred applicant will have endorsement in music.
