Overview

Perform daily tasks in computer operations.  These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, running scheduled and unscheduled jobs, backup media management, monitoring of systems, and miscellaneous tasks within the department. This positon will also monitor data center environment to ensure proper temperature and humidity.

The hours are 8pm to 8am. For 2 weeks you will work 3 days a week and the next 2 weeks you will work 4 days a week.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Monitor jobs controlled by an automated scheduling system; monitor multiple systems.
• Schedule batch production jobs using command line entries and workbooks
• Process phone requests.
• Troubleshoot problems and assist in problem resolution.
• Notify appropriate personnel of exceptions (ex: delay running of scheduled report).
• Keep forms needs of department supplied; report forms and supplies inventory to management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): What KSAs are required to perform this job?

• Good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of hardware configurations.
• Knowledge of AS/400, UNIX and Microsoft commands.
• Good oral communication skills.

Work Experience &/or Education: What are the minimum education and/or experience requirements necessary to perform this job?

• High school diploma preferred.
• Multi-platform operations experience preferred, including AS/400, UNIX and Microsoft.
