PRN III Defined:

(Earn extra 3.00/hour PRN Differential) plus other eligible shift differentials

Work Requirements:

*6 shifts per 4 week schedule (3 have to be on weekend)

*1 Major Holiday (New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day)

*2 Minor Holiday (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)

*3 Difficult to Staff Days: Super Bowl, Valentine's Day, President's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Fall Break (UEA), Halloween, Day After Thanksgiving, New Year's Eve

As a highly-skilled compassionate Pediatric ICU Nurse you will provide excellent patient care to pediatric patients in the critical care setting. In addition to providing care to these patients PICU RN's offer support to the parents, with a focus on emotional encouragement and education.Our team works hard to support each other, we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:

  • You will perform life-sustaining care for pediatric patients in the ICU.
  • You will be able to evaluate and document each patient's response to interventions and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition.
  • You will have demonstrated knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.This includes a sound knowledge of emergency medications.
  • You will work closely with department leadership and physicians to coordinate treatment plans and examinations.
  • You will educate parents on day-to-day operations/goals, treatment plans and at home care procedures.
  • You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Current State of Idaho or Compact Registered Nurse License.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification. Must obtain within 90 days of hire and maintain certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification. Must obtain within 90 days of hire and maintain certification.
  • ENPC or TNCC within 18 months of hire
  • One to two years of recent critical care experience preferred.

The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318 plus patient beds. We serve as the region's healthcare provider and serve southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana. EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (one of two in Idaho), and the only emergency room in Idaho Falls. We have the region's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for critically ill children. We offer inpatient and outpatient mental health care for adolescents and adults at its 74-bed Behavioral Health Center.
