Description

At Eckerd Connects, our mission-driven work impacts thousands of individuals and families across the country through workforce development, youth services, education, and workforce programs. We are seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Executive Leadership Team and help guide the future of a complex, nationally recognized organization operating within government-funded and highly regulated environments.

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the CFO serves on the Executive Leadership Team as the organization's chief financial strategist, steward, and advisor. This executive will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial strength, regulatory compliance, liquidity management, and sustainable growth while supporting critical decisions that advance our mission.

This is not a purely strategic position. • Own the integrity of financial statements, budgeting, treasury, banking, investments, reserves, audits, tax reporting, financial policies, and internal controls.
  • Ensure the organization meets financial requirements associated with federal and state contracts, grants, cost allocation, reimbursement, and reporting; anticipate exposure before it becomes a compliance or cash issue.

  • Oversee financial risk and insurance decisions in partnership with the appropriate enterprise leaders; exercise delegated authority for material financial commitments and agreements.
Financial Planning, Liquidity, and Decision Support
  • Lead annual budgeting, long-range financial planning, rolling forecasts, and scenario analysis that reflect funding changes, contract cycles, labor costs, and operating demands.

  • Turn financial information into practical choices for the CEO and Board, including the likely consequences of each option and the point at which action is required.
Contracts, Growth, and Capital Allocation
  • Partner with Operations, Strategy, and Development to assess new programs, large grants, partnerships, affiliations, acquisitions, restructuring, and potential new entities.
  • Lead the financial evaluation of opportunities: pricing, total cost and overhead recovery, cash requirements, contract terms, financial due diligence, and downside scenarios.

Finance Modernization and Talent

  • Demonstrated understanding of the financial and operational requirements of federal contracts or grants, including cost allocation, restricted funding, reimbursement, and regulatory obligations.
  • Experience advising a CEO or equivalent enterprise leader and communicating financial matters effectively to a Board or comparable governing body.
  • Evidence of leading Finance teams through change while staying engaged in operational and financial detail.
