EECU is thrilled to announce an opening for a Mortgage Construction Coordinator / Funder.

If you're detail-oriented, love fast-paced environments, and are passionate about making the homeownership process smooth and successful for members—this is your chance to shine! You'll play a vital role in coordinating mortgage closings and funding, ensuring every step is accurate and seamless.

Key responsibilities for the Mortgage Construction Coordinator / Funder:

  • Audit all loan packets to ensure all documents are present and executed properly. Responsible for the accuracy of all documents signed at closing from Branches/Title Companies. Modify documents if needed. 
  • Responsible for giving final funding approval to title companies.
  • Prepare deeds to be filed electronically with CSC e-recording with the county and submit the deed on morning of funding or mail them to counties who do not allow electronic filing.
  • Monitor to ensure the document is accepted by the county and recorded in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for preparing the physical funding folder using original note, deed to be submitted, and any documents to be sent to the member or another third party (e.g. tax assessor).
  • Oversee the accurate creation and funding of loans within the Symitar system, ensuring compliance and precision across a wide range of real estate products. This includes handling complex transactions such as escrow-managed loans, third-party disbursements, home improvement financing, land acquisitions, HELOCs, and home equity loans.
  • Responsible for initiating and sending wire transfers related to loan disbursements, to payment systems which requires the highest level of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • The Funder plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization by ensuring the accuracy and balance of all General Ledger (GL) entries. They are directly responsible for monitoring and reconciling daily GL activity, including the daily e-filing GL, and ensuring that all financial entries align precisely with loan funding transactions. 
  • Collaborates closely with the Accounting Department to promptly investigate and resolve any out-of-balance conditions, ensuring that all ledger accounts are properly balanced. 
  • Verify incoming wire payoff information from payment systems before accepting.
  • Balance checks from title company for escrow account set up.
  • Ensuring funds received from Title company are accurate, received in a timely manner and balance from the CD
  • Preparing the escrow setup report and sending the funds by wire to send to sub-servicer. 
  • Ensure that collateral (notes) and deeds (and when necessary, loan policies from title companies) are received timely and correctly uploaded into LOS system and that all property collateral such as recorded deeds are securely and properly stored in the file room. 
  • Accountable for the accurate, preparation, and secure delivery of all required loan documentation to investors, ensuring full legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible for loan servicing calls which can include assisting members with payoffs, home improvement draws, payment questions, product questions, release of liens, copies of documents and general questions. 
  • Take appropriate action on the following daily, weekly and monthly reports: daily funding Report, monthly FASB report, monthly ARCU report (as needed). 
  • Assists with keeping training manuals and SOP's updated.

Candidates for EECU should possess the following knowledge and experience: 

*Real Estate experience preferred

*One - two years' experience financial/banking 

*Must be well organized, detail oriented 

*Must be able to work under pressure and within limited time constraints

*Must be able to maintain member confidentiality of member information regarding income, job, account information, credit and loan decisions 

*Must have a clear understanding of real estate legal documents and title policies/searches to perform at a proficient level

*Strong written, verbal communication, and time management skills 

*Must be proficient in Excel and Word

*Ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the department, ability to perform multiple tasks at once, detail oriented

*High School diploma or equivalent 

*Symitar software and Encompass software a plus

*EECU will, in compliance with applicable laws, evaluate an applicant's credit history. Only applicants with good credit history will be considered for open positions. If offered a position with EECU, will have to clear background check including employment, criminal, and drug screen. 

Responsible for compliance of all Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Bribery Act, NCUA Privacy Regulations, Reg B, Reg Z, Reg DD, Reg E, Reg CC, Service Members Civil Relief, FCRA/FACTA, RESPA, HMDA, SAFE Act, TRID, ATR/QM, Fair Housing Act, Flood Disaster Protection Act, Homeowner's Protection Act and HPML. Required to attend initial and ongoing annual Bank Secrecy Act training.
