Job Summary:
The Program Director of Podiatry will possess appropriate clinical, administrative, and teaching qualifications suitable for implementing the podiatry residency and achieving the competencies of the podiatry residency. The Program director will be responsible for the administration of the program, supervision of residents and faculty, and coordination with accrediting bodies and our DIO to maintain certifications. The residency director will be responsible for the didactic and clinical curriculum of the program, consistent with the requirements of the Council on Podiatric Medical Education and standards of academic excellence.

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.
- The Program Director shall be a Podiatric Physician.
- The Program Director shall administer the residency program.
- The Program Director must have a minimum of three years of post-residency clinical experience.
- The Program Director must be certified by at least one board recognized by Specialty Board Recognition Committee.
- The Program Director may appoint an assistant/associate director to assist administration of the program.
- The Program Director will be responsible for the administration of the program in all participating institutions.
- The Program Director shall devote sufficient time to fulfill the responsibilities required of the position.
- The Program Director is responsible for maintenance of the records related to the educational program, scheduling of rotations, instruction, supervision, review and verification of logs, evaluation of the resident, periodic review and revision of curriculum content, and program self-assessment.
- The Program Director must ensure resident participation in training resources and didactic experiences (e.g. lectures, journal review sessions, conferences, and seminars)
- The Program Director shall participate at least annually in faculty development activities
- The Program Director shall have a program coordinator from the institution minimum of 20 hours/week or 0.5 FTE
License/Certification/Registry:
- Certification by American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and/or American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
- Member of the Medical Staff in good standing with at least 3 years of direct clinical experience and established track record for clinical excellence.
- Experience in resident education.
- Member of the Graduate Medical Education committee of the institution.

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation. In addition to the minimum rate, eligible employees may receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness resources.
