Join our team and increase your opportunities for success.The Lead Accountant (Financial Accounting) reports to the Financial Accounting Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of monthly journal entries.
- Review and reconciliation of sub-ledgers.
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Trend analysis of the balance sheet and income statement.
- Work with other departments to obtain documents and information needed for the close process or other projects.
- Balance intercompany transactions.
- Handle special projects requested from other departments or within the department.
- Preparation of quarterly variance analysis.
- Adhere to SOX procedures and documentation guidelines.
- Provide technical guidance to others when needed.
- Responsible for the timely resolution of outstanding accounting issues.
- Mentor, train and assist others within the department as needs arise.
- When supervisors are out of the office, provide quality review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
Requirements
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- A minimum of 6 to 8 years accounting experience is required.
- Oracle experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with accounting concepts.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization and external parties.
- Self-starter who has the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Takes direction well and upholds the standards and procedures of the department.
- Ability to adapt to change and work in a fluid environment.
- Works effectively with minimal supervision.
- Ability to set goals within departmental guidelines.
- Ability to work well with team members while providing training and support.
Must have strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
