Description

The Risk Services Manager is responsible for activities facilitating placement of insurance programs for integrated midstream energy operations across the United States.  Operations include crude oil, natural gas, NGL and petrochemical processing, storage and transportation along with crude oil and LPG trucking and inland marine transportation services.  Candidates need a background in corporate insurance and risk management practices, excellent communication skills and working knowledge of insurance markets.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collect and analyze data related to new and renewal insurance programs.
  • Prepare necessary applications and supporting materials for various insurance programs (property, casualty, construction, etc.). 
  • Interface with internal departments to develop necessary information for insurance coverage.
  • Interface with brokers and underwriters regarding scope of coverage.
  • Evaluate insurance proposals received to assess compliance with intended scope.
  • Review policy wording to confirm compliance with scope and issued binding instructions.
  • Review insurance requirements in agreements of all types. Advocate for wording consistent with company policies and compliance with existing insurance policies. 
  • Supervise/post updates to internal tracking systems for contractor compliance with insurance requirements. 
  • Conduct due diligence activities related to insurance.  Review insurance provisions for M&A transactions, assess insurance coverage provided and evaluate potential risk or liabilities of transactions.
  • Issue and maintain company surety bond program.
  • Supervise activities associated with issuance and renewal of insurance certificates.
  • Allocate insurance premiums to business segments or assets for accounting purposes.


Requirements

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, or related field is required.
  • 10 years in Corporate Insurance and risk management practice is required.
  • orking knowledge of insurance markets is required.
  • excellent communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policy wording.
  • Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex insurance data.
