The partnership's assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.

The Senior Field Environmental Scientist will ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits in the areas of Air, Water, Waste and Emergency Response.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversight and implementation of environmental permits (air and water) and environmental regulations (NSPS, MACT, State), programs, procedures, policies, and manuals.
  • Preparation of environmental reports and compliance documentation related to New Source Review (NSR), Title V, NPDES permits, and Discharge Monitoring Reports, etc.
  • Maintain site response and spill prevention plans. Conduct training exercises involving personnel and outside agencies.  Participate in emergency response and determine reportable quantity release emission estimates within allotted timeframe.
  • Analyze site environmental data and trends. Recommend ways to improve and gain efficiencies with the data.
  • Creating, developing, and improving relationship between Environmental, external agencies, and internal departments such as EHS&T, Operations, Commercial, Legal, and others.
  • Setting and achieving environmental compliance goals that support and meet the expectations of Field Environmental Manager and Director, Environmental.
  • Participation in area Environmental, Health and Safety Committee and industry associations as appropriate.


Requirements

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree is required.  A science degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering or related areas is preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in a compliance or regulatory capacity in the energy or related industries is preferred.
  • Proven environmental compliance skills in the energy industry is required.
  • Proven ability to communication effectively and influence various individuals and groups across organizational lines is required.
  • Proven organizational skills and abilities is required.
  • Proven ability to evaluate issues, define requirements, and implement action plans to accomplish organizational goals is required.
  • Working knowledge of midstream energy industry facilities such as pipelines (gas, liquids, natural gas liquids), pump and compressor stations, gas and liquid measurement facilities, above and below ground storage, liquid terminals, gas processing facilities, or naturals gas liquids fractionation is preferred.
  • Ability to walk long-periods of time to access field assets and right-of-way (ROW).
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically is required.
