Description

 

The Measurement Services Specialist will work in cooperation with and in support of the various Measurement & Material Balance groups, Field Measurement, and Operations to ensure compliance with approved measurement standards, specifications, policies and procedures for all new installations, upgrades, and major repairs of measurement equipment.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform tasks of a technical nature associated with measurement systems through troubleshooting and repair.
  • Provide design and operational support for measurement equipment such as meters, provers, samplers, etc.
  • Perform regular reviews of gain/loss issues as reported by the Material Balance groups.
  • Work as part of a team to research and investigate material balance issues for assigned assets.
  • Perform witnessing/audit activities to ensure the quality and compliance of measurement systems.
  • Develop and maintain the measurement standards, procedures, and policies used company wide.
  • Conduct training in a classroom setting and in the field.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) of critical measurement equipment and systems.


Requirements

 

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline or 2 years of related industry experience is required.
  • 2  years of pipeline or related industry experience.
  • 2 years of liquid measurement experience preferred.
  • Experience working with Crude/NGL products is preferred.
  • Experience working with Coriolis meters is preferred.
  • Experience working in a project environment is preferred. 
  • Knowledge of electronic instrumentation and their applications is required.
  • Ability to work in a corporate and field environment.
  • Must be able and willing to work in the outdoors, in the field, and to be able to work using tools and do moderate lifting and climbing of stairs.
  • Ability to understand and demonstrate computer functionality is required.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, written reporting and be able to effectively provide detail explanation of measurement equipment troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to travel overnight 15% of the time and for day trips within area around 75% of the time.
  • Position could be located in Houston or Beaumont.
