Join the Pharmaceutical Calibrations and Instrumentation (PCI) team! We are seeking a Pipette Calibration Technician who can perform calibration and maintenance on a variety of pipettes onsite at our client pharmaceutical facilities in the Boston metro area.  Please review the job description below and apply if you would like to be considered.  If you prefer working at a fast pace, on the go instead of at a desk, have a passion for performing quality work, and have a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of others, this position may be just for you!  

 

This position will focus on maintenance, calibrations, and repairs on pipettes of many makes and models.  Additional laboratory equipment may also be calibrated.  Excel skills and computer-based calibration tracking program (CMMS) experience is desired.  

The Pipette Calibration Technician reports directly to the Team Leader, Manager, or Director, depending upon the organizational structure.  These positions are non-exempt.  Up to 25% travel may be required.  

 

Expectations:

Pipette Technicians are expected to take a proactive role in supporting the Pipette Services Team and in providing client pipette support. The Pipette Technician is expected to build a high level of trust with internal and client personnel. This trust is developed through consistently upholding PCI Values and demonstrating Honesty, Integrity, Pride, Accountability, Teamwork, and Commitment.

 

Responsibilities/ Assignments:

Pipette Calibration Technician I

  • Learns and performs basic pipette and balance calibrations and PMs
  • Learns and completes proper GXP documentation for calibrations performed.
  • Learns safety guidelines and notifies superiors of any concerns or potential hazards. Always consider safety when executing tasks and projects.  Ensures that PCI work areas are safe, neatly organized, and professional on-site and in the office.
  • Trains and follows SOPs for proper calibration of instruments
  • Provides customer service as mentored by experienced technicians
  • Timesheets and expense reports are completed weekly with accurate labor and expense codes.
  • Is ethical and trusted among clients and partners. Supports and furthers the PCI Success Philosophy.
  • Displays professionalism with appearance and with written and verbal communication.  Provides regular updates on projects to Tech SRs, Team Leader/Managers.

 

Skills Required:

Pipette Calibration Technician I

  • Extreme attention to detail, able to perform tasks with few errors
  • Ability to multi-task with little oversight
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently
  • Ability to climb stairs; climb on equipment such as tanks. Moderate to heavy lifting.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Understanding of customer service principles

 

Experience & Education Required for Pipette Calibration Technician I:

A high school degree or equivalent. A two- or four-year degree is preferred but not required.  Completion of a biotechnology certification class is highly desired.
