Machining Team Lead, CAD Design, CNC Programmer
As a Machining Team Leader, you'll lead a team of machinists, ensuring efficient production, quality standards, and safe operations while also providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership, Supervision, CAD Design, and CNC Programming:
- Directly supervise and lead a team of machinists, coordinating their activities and workloads.
- Working as a CAD Designer, working with customers and sales department for quoting machining projects, as well as translating finished designs to CNC programs.
- Working as the CNC (computer numerically controlled) Programmer, Machinist Team Lead will be responsible for interpreting project blueprints, designing programs and setting up machines to produce the component outlined in the program.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor progress to ensure production targets are met.
- Provide guidance, training, and coaching to team members to enhance skills and performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and regulations.
Production & Quality:
- Ensure all machines are properly set up and functioning to produce high-quality parts.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain optimal productivity.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on machines to ensure proper functioning.
- Identify and resolve production issues, including troubleshooting machine problems.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities and quality control data.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments.
- Coordinate with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate directly with customers for machining project estimates and quotations.
- Participate in meetings and provide updates on team performance and progress.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest manufacturing technologies and techniques.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
