School Bus Monitor Responsibilities:
Stay alert and monitor student safety and behavior during routes
Communicate behavior concerns or stop conditions with the driver
Assist with pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Help students safely board and exit the bus
Work closely with school staff, families, and students
Attend all required safety and training meetings
Perform emergency evacuation drills, including use of emergency doors
Open and close service doors; navigate bus steps multiple times daily
Keep the bus interior clean
Assist drivers in safely backing up when needed
