Job Description

The Software Engineering Co-Op will be based in Ottawa, Canada. The coop will work on challenging projects in support of real-time business issues, to develop skills and experiences.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do…

  • Support software engineers in new product development activities
  • Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle with the opportunity to write, test, and validate code on a variety of projects
  • Test and debug circuit boards
  • Perform regression testing
  • Other tasks as needed

Here is some of what you'll need (required)…

  • Current enrollment in a post-secondary Software Engineering program or related
  • Basic understanding of Linux (C, C++, uboot, kernel and user space development)
  • Basic knowledge in interface development
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication skills and ability to intensively collaborate
  • Tenacious commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
  • Some experience in embedded software development: board bring up, ​low level drivers/APIs, development of architectures
  • Interest in various software development models
  • Working experience with VMware and/or Virtual Box
  • An appetite for learning new technologies
  • A passionate focus on customer needs
  • A relentless drive to win
