Job SummaryMirror Controls international (MCi), a Flex company, is the global market leader in mechatronics solutions for automotive rear-view side mirrors. With over 80 million annual units produced on 3 continents. In addition MCi is expanding its product portfolio to other Automotive actuation solutions such as Active Aerodynamics & Motor cooling management.
We are currently looking for a Director, Technical Product Management, based in Woerden, NL.
Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:
Leads a team of engineers in the design and development of innovative mechatronic systems and products. This role involves project management, technical leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and alignment with organizational goals.
Lead and manage a global team of 80+ mechatronic engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. Responsible for the design, development, and testing of mechatronic and related software systems, ensuring they meet specifications and quality standards. Responsible for global engineering budget. Responsible for creation of project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Collaborate with business development, product management, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to define project requirements and deliverables. Conduct regular project reviews and provide updates to senior executive team on progress, challenges, and solutions. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mechatronics, integrating new technologies into product development. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all engineering processes and products. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
Here is some of what we are looking for:
- Master level Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in automotive mechatronic system design and development, with relevant experience in a managerial or leadership role.
- Fluency in English, additional knowledge in Dutch, German, or Chinese desirable
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electronic, and software engineering principles.
- Knowledge of development tools.
- Excellent project management skills, with experience in Agile or similar methodologies.
- Excellent people management skills with large global teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a global team environment.
- Experience in robotics, automation and control systems is a pre.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to automotive products.
