To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/an Embedded Software Engineer located in Farmington Hills, MI.

Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager  the Embedded Software Engineer Drives and implements the Software Engineering (SWE) activities as part of a project team according to required development processes and related methods to create a comprehensive and consistent software for the product

What a typical day looks like:

  • Analyze, estimate and develop Software Requirements based on system requirements, review these with Core software engineering and get acceptance with Customer prior implementation.
  • Architect, design and implement functional and infrastructure (OS, low level drivers, LIN, CAN and Diagnostic layer, FEE / EEPROM, self-test) software and related interfaces .
  • Perform software integration and prepare related reports.
  • Perform static analysis, unit testing and prepare related reports.
  • Perform troubleshooting on the target hardware.
  • Plan software releases along with core software engineering team for the assigned projects .
  • Install and configure the development environment including code generation (build scripts, make files, …etc.)  and debug platform, execute software debug.
  • Participate in software gate reviews along with Flex engineering and support requirements mitigation / issue tracking / planning.
  • Participate in customer review meeting related to the software development for the related projects.

The experience we're looking to add to our team,

  • 3-5 years of Experience in Automotive ECU embedded software development for body control modules (interior lighting electronics is preferred) or similar.
  • Good knowledge of embedded C programming.
  • Hand-on experience implementing and integrating LIN and CAN Bus Vehicle Diagnostics standards UDS ISO 14229, KWP2000 and related tools CANalyzer, CANoe, CANdela Studio, CANDiVA
  • Knowledge in writing/adapting CAPL scripts for Vector tools
  • Experienced with low level basic software, (complex) driver development
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle integration, system calibration and debug
  • Hands-on experience using debugger, logic analyzer, oscilloscopes, multi-meters and other debug and measurement devices
  • Experience using unit testing tools like VectorCast
  • Familiar with following microcontroller families: PIC16, Melexis 811xx, Atmel SAMDA1 or others.
  • Knowledgeable about Software Configuration and Change Control Management like Bitbucket / Git, Jira, Polarion or similar ALM/CM/RM tools
  • Experience in Vehicle Architectures such as Chrysler PowerNET, Atlantis, Ford FNOS, GM GMLAN, Daimler SLP10 is a plus.
  • Experience following ASPICE process development for software product
