Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a General Manager located in Guadalajara, North Campus. Reporting to VP Operations, this role involves being leads a manufacturing site to achieve production, quality, safety, and cost targets while delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. This strategic leadership role drives operational excellence, fosters a high-performing team, and aligns site performance with the company's global objectives. Optimizes resources, ensures forecast and operational cost accuracy, and champions continuous improvement to maximize profitability and growth in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

What a typical day looks like:

  • The General Manager will be accountable for overseeing and directing the site to ensure business development growth and the attainment of profit and operations goals including Vision and Mission.
  • Accountable for assessment of existing and potential markets and developing and maintaining strategic alliances with key customers.
  • Will regularly interact with executives and major clients. Interactions normally will involve influencing and/or persuading customers and negotiations.
  • This role should possess demonstrated positive human relations and business skills that are effective at all levels of the organization.
  • Direct execution and develop the necessary functional and process expertise to deliver customer solutions in a rapid time frame at the lowest possible costs.
  • Functional will include, but not be limited to Engineering, Procurement, Materials Management, Regulatory, Quality, Warehousing and logistics, Business Excellence, cross-functional Human Resource and Financial controls.
  • Safety and Engagement: Cultivate a workplace environment where every employee feels safe, healthy, engaged, and valued.
  • Organizational Structure: Establish an organizational framework that facilitates the achievement of consistent financial and operational goals while driving business development and continuous improvement.
  • Customer relationship management & communication: Ensure the delivery of a unified customer experience by providing quality, reliable solutions on budget, on time, and in full, all within a fast-paced and safe operating environment.
  • Project and Product Delivery: Oversee that all new projects and product introductions are executed within budget and time constraints while meeting stringent quality standards, thereby ensuring the utmost customer satisfaction.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the comprehensive planning and execution of the product lifecycle, from launch to end-of-life, ensuring alignment with production capacities and customer demand.
  • Commercial Support: Collaborate with commercial and internal teams to ensure accurate product quotations that promote business sustainability and profitability.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Partner with internal site and commercial teams to generate precise forecasts and manufacturing plans that align with production capacity needs, mitigating negative impacts on profit and loss while maximizing resource allocation and overall profitability.
  • Operational Improvement: Lead the site in employing Lean and Quality Improvement methodologies (e.g., value stream mapping, Kaizen, Charters, 5S, Gemba walks, Six Sigma) to consistently enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Talent Management: Attract, retain, inspire, coach, and develop talent throughout the organization, fostering a culture of continuous growth.
  • Manufacturing Capacity Management: Ensure accurate estimations of manufacturing capacity and oversee production/materials control, warehousing, site facilities, equipment maintenance, and ancillary manufacturing support activities.
  • Functional Responsibilities: Oversee a range of functional areas, including Engineering, Procurement, Facilities, Materials Management, Quality, Warehousing and Logistics, Business Excellence, and collaborate cross-functionally with Human Resources and Financial Management
  • Drive alignment and execution of complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and performance, to align goals, timelines, and execution

Experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in related field; MBA is preferred.
  • 10 or more years of industry experience with at least 12 years of experience in Operations Management and at Executive level.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams of people and multi-million-dollar revenues.
  • Ability to significantly improve operation metrics including increasing turns, out of box quality, on time delivery, and reductions in cycle time, costs and inventory.
  • Experience in reverse logistics, (non-)warranty repair and service experience an asset.
  • Ability to successfully influence senior level management, executives and key clients.
  • Commitment to the Quality and Safety Focus
  • NPI experience with new customer programs from concept to successful execution and delivery.
  • Proven sales development skills and excellent operational and financial skills.
  • Experience working with ODM's and/or OEM's.
  • Deep understanding of Metals, career Path Progressing in   manufacturing, with a specific focus on sheet metal fabrication
  • Fluent English.
