To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we're looking to add a Process Engineering Intern located in our Austin, TX site.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Team, the student will get in-depth training working on our manufacturing systems, process development and support multiple business units. The Process Engineering Intern will also participate in process improvement and the incorporation of new technologies.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Assist with the development of new products via NPI (New Product Introduction) or ECN (Engineering Change Notice).
  • Assist to drive quality and process improvements.
  • Assist with DFM and production launch process.
  • Review and participate in the design of specialized tooling.
  • Suggest alternative solutions and design improvements.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining effective manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement process controls that include statistical techniques.
  • Work closely with site engineering and customers to ensure technical information is communicated clearly and promptly.
  • Work with Process and Quality Engineers / Technicians to improve quality.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining technical process manuals and documents used by Engineering or Manufacturing personnel. Also responsible to train personnel in the use of documentation, equipment, and associated processes.
  • Provide status updates to engineering management and other managers concerning progress on assigned activities.

Student qualities we're seeking for this internship assignment:

  • Junior or Senior level (undergrad) student currently pursuing Engineering degree.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, customer specifications, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interface with associates to support product designs in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to apply engineering mathematics, algebra, and geometry.
  • Ability to use MS Word/Excel/Publisher

Internship Program Requirements:

  • Available to start on May 26th and work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10-12 week Summer assignment
  • Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
  • 3.0 minimum GPA
