Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Senior Automation Manufacturing Manager located in Zalaegerszeg.

Reporting to the Director, Automation Engineering, the Senior Automation Manufacturing Manager role involves being responsible to drive, manage and lead the Automation Site leaders for productivity saving goals, be responsible to train and guide the operations organization to align on Standard Automation flows, tools and templates. Develop suppliers in collaboration with indirect procurement for equipment PSL/AVL in the region and support on Flex internal technology distribution and/or new standard/ innovation technologies.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Work effectively with leadership, design and engineering, Segment CTO's, sales, marketing, and other stakeholders to prioritize requirements for Growth and Productivity
  • Have a cadence of regular review with BU Ops and Engineering team to assess actual to planned effort
  • Recognizes and develops talent as a key element of executing operational business plans. Provides strategic leadership for the function and the site.
  • Work effectively with leadership, design and engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders to prioritize requirements for Growth and Productivity
  • Demonstrates functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
  • Define clear requirements to achieve goals with ROI, Investment cost, scalable solutions etc. 
  • Build financial models (i.e., Microsoft Excel); conduct quantitative and qualitative business, market, and competitor analysis; help identify and assess existing and new market initiatives as it relates to Growth
  • Be a key spokesperson to advocate core product capabilities and potential opportunities.  Effectively participate in promotion activities internally and with customers to represent various industry products, solutions, and value propositions.
  • Be able to create and define RFQ/SOW documents to quote with suppliers' new integrations
  • Have contact with suppliers of new technologies and evaluate them to see which one is better for the required application.
  • Get involved with local teams and operations to provide technical support for the implementation or development of any technology.
  • Manage investment cost and identify correct sources for technology capability development.
  • Recommend solution that could lead to investments in areas for Flex to possible in-source
  • Work in collaboration with Project Manager to meet timeline

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • University or College degree in Engineering electronics, mechanics, mechatronics or similar
  • Experience in Project Management in a complex, high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Evaluations, plans, internal strategies, result oriented, flexible, passionate, creative, hands-on, love to learn and continuously improve, objective, critical thinking and problem-solving skill, well organized, pays attention to details, methodical
  • Ownership for team task, good team player, working under pressure & multi-tasking.
  • Interpretation and establishment of KPI and Operational Metrics for automation devices.
  • Experience integrating automation applications from design to delivery stage
  • Experience with industrial protocols like OPC, Profibus, Fieldbus, Devicenet, IO-link, Modbus, TCP/IP or similar.
  • Experience in manufacturing process for electronics devices and mechanical assemblies (e.g., dispensing, screw-fastening, welding, soldering, general knowledge in testing, etc.)
  • Fluent English – written and spoken
