To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Sr. Strategic Supply Chain Manager located in Guadalajara, North Campus.
Reporting to the Sr Director, Supply Chain Management role involves being responsible to develop, implement and drive world class supply chain strategies that provide Flex RES (Racks & Enclosures Solutions) business unit and the customers with a strategic market advantage and are consistent with established Flex company policies, GPSC worldwide material/procurement strategies & supports critical operational materials escalations.
What a typical day looks like:
- Create and implement a regional (Americas, EMEA, Asia) mechanical supply chain strategy in support of several global programs (mainly CEC & Core Industrial) that is synchronized with RES business unit material strategies and metrics.
- Direct interaction with RES business unit customer – acts as the supply chain leader of the individual account in front of the client.
- Partner to the RES Business Development and Global Account Management team members in assisting with customer meetings, escalations, and provide support in the sales cycle.
- Implement SIOP and other asset velocity programs to optimize inventory turnover while mitigating inventory exposure and reducing risk for both Flex and RES customers. These activities include development (contracting) and implementation of contractual excess and obsolescence terms with the customer as well as supplier managed inventory programs.
- Drive strategic procurement initiatives (mainly mechanicals) to maximize cost reduction together with the mechanical and other commodity GCMs. Measure and report on project status both internally and to RES customer.
- Consolidate input from commodity managers, site materials management, and personal efforts for consolidated program sourcing documents that maximize flexibility and maintain cost to performance targets both internally and externally.
- Lead global FAIR (Focal Account Inventory Review) meetings for each RES global sites, controls, owns and project manages certain actions.
- Active controlling & management of price competitiveness to maximize materials margin $ generation for the RES business unit customers – price no movement, Price Reduction (PR) vs Cost Reduction (CR), alternate sourcing initiatives including localization, Component Services Group (CSG) engagement.
- Support Design Win Agreements (DWA) activities for new programs of RES business unit customer in the 3x regions. Provide forward price projections and cost reduction road map, as required.
- Support Flex RES sites on critical material expedite requests, any operational materials execution including materials flow and warehousing.
- Direct customer quotation requirements. Interface with Flex RES Quotation Group during the quotation process to ensure all costed Bills of Material are competitive, support the defined supply chain strategy, and minimize Flex RES exposure to inventory impacted by quoted pricing.
- Lead NPI purchasing activities associated with New Product Introduction efforts in a collaboration with site materials departments and the GCM community. Controls line-item source awards, new supplier development, and item-master upload.
- Ensure the highest ethical and compliancy standards of integrity and professionalism are adhered to the GPSC procurement process in accordance with Flex corporate requirements.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- BA/BS degree.
- MBA degree is preferred.
- Advanced English and Spanish level.
- More than 5 years of SC management experience.
- Familiarity with mechanical supply chain elements, including materials, commodities, price management and engineering principles.
- Strong understanding of EMS and Mechanical supply chain strategies and practices, particularly in a global context.
- APICS, CPM in supply chain management or procurement certifications are preferable.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing supply chain data for decision-making and performance measurement.
- Office Skills: MS office software: (word processing, spreadsheets (excel), presentation (power point) package) and MicroStrategy database systems such as BAAN or ERP-SAP and/or Kinaxis.
- Mechanical Components: Familiarity with mechanical supply chain elements, including materials, commodities, price management and engineering principles.
- Sales Cycle and Customer Interaction: Understanding of sales processes and the role of supply chain in supporting customer-facing functions.
- Regulatory Standards: Knowledge of compliance, ethical standards, and industry regulations within supply chain management.
- PMI certificate is a plus.
