Position Summary

The Project Manager III provides leadership, management, oversight, and principal liaison for all aspects for high complexity projects. In this role, the Project Manager III leads cross-functional efforts to develop new commercial products, new Law Enforcement products, or other strategic initiatives related to company goals. The Project Manager III also leads advancement of Project Management methodologies within FN America and trains less experienced Project Managers.  


Job Duties

  • Manages new firearm product development projects of the highest complexity. 
  • Manages strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Mentors less experienced Project Manager Is and IIs.
  • Develops resource loaded critical path network schedules in MS Project Pro.
  • Mitigates risks, meets budget, and meets product cost targets with little to no supervision.
  • Evaluates complex trade-offs and makes or recommends decisions based on known facts and experience.
  • Contributes to the Project Management methodology across functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Educational Requirements

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Business Management, or related field is required. Advanced degree preferred in Business or Engineering.


Experience Requirements

Seven years of experience in complex project management in a cross-functional teaming environment developing products for commercial or military applications is required. Seven years of experience in a leadership/functional management role is also required (may be concurrent). 


Skills and Competencies

Tools

Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project/Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (ePPM). 


Licenses/Certifications

Project Management Certificate (PMP) is preferred.


Working Conditions

Typical office environment with some travel between buildings and to other locations required.
