The Organ Transplantation Division at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide exceptional care for pre-transplant patients. The Organ Transplantation Division at HUMC is a leading transplant center in the NYC/NJ metropolitan area and among the fastest-growing in the nation.
Opportunity Highlights & Responsibilities:
- Join a dynamic network and collaborate with experienced physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, specialists, and support staff.
- Full-Time, Day Shift: Monday - Friday (8am - 4:30pm).
- Strong and detailed orientation period spanning three - six months.
- Provide exceptional patient care for patients pre-kidney or pre-pancreas transplant.
- Conduct histories and physicals on transplant candidates.
- Collaborate with nephrologists in dialysis planning.
- Orders lab work and tests in accordance with national standards.
- Provides education and support to patients and families.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an AMA accredited physician assistant (PA) program AND licensed by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners
- Active and unrestricted Physician Assistant License in the State of New Jersey, Active CDS, DEA, ACLS, BLS
- Certification by the National Commission for Certified Physician 's Assistants (NCCPA) within one year of initial employment by the Medical Center
- Completion of Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, ethics, professionalism, adaptability, and determination
