Directs and manages the operations and activities of the Critical Care department. Responsible for the overall management of the departments operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives established. Responsible for the staff performance and the accomplishment of departmental responsibilities in accord with corporate, hospital, department, and safety policies and procedures to meet both company care and regulatory requirements. Responsible for providing high-quality patient care to and acting as a liaison with patients and their representative, physicians, employees, and community agencies. Responsible for the efficient operation of the departments and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize cost.
The Director assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing and managing the department and staff to assure quality service. The director is responsible for meeting JCAHO Standards, complying with corporate policy and procedures, promoting teamwork with physicians and all health care providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and appropriate resource management.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in the acute care hospital
- Minimum 3 years supervisory critical care experience
- Critical Care course
- Member of AACN preferred
