Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

 
As a vital member of the HCA Healthcare System, HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland which offers 33 licensed beds and shares the strength of more than 165 hospitals across the United States and England, including The Woman's Hospital of Texas and HCA Healthcare Clear Lake 


The hospital is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.   

 

What you will do in this role: 

• Performs initial evaluations of patients and implements plan of care. 

• Performs Modified Barium Swallow studies effectively and in a timely manner. 

• Identifies and assesses the patient's needs for special equipment.  

• Conducts tests and measurements of speech, language and swallowing ability. 

• Communicates effectively with patients in a caring and empathetic manner regarding their diagnosis, plan of care and goals of treatment. 

• Communicates effectively with referring physicians regarding the status of their patients receiving therapy. 

• Assists in maintaining adequate supplies /equipment for patient's therapy.

Qualifications

Education:
Graduate of accredited school of Speech/Language Pathology

 
What qualifications you will need:
• Current Texas license required.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support course (BLS or BCLS) and certification is required.
