BASIC FUNCTION HCSC is looking for a dynamic individual to join its Employee Benefits team! This position is responsible for assisting with planning, designing and implementation of corporate benefit programs; researching and interpreting industry and government developments; ensuring compliance with government regulations; working with internal and external vendors on plan administration, contracts, tracking cost and utilization trends, plan modifications, communications and annual renewals; and overseeing communication of benefit programs and policies to employees. This role is hybrid/flex and requires in-office visibility three days per week, working from home the other two days. NOTE: relocation is NOT offered and sponsorship (either now or in the future) is NOT available ~

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree AND 4 years of experience in Human Resources with a strong working knowledge of employee benefits i.e., medical/dental, retiree medical, disease management, life insurance, reimbursement accounts, disability, leave of absence and paid time off; should possess a working knowledge of health and welfare benefit plans OR 8 years' direct benefits experience.
  • Proven ability in planning and managing multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with internal/external vendors and customers and work effectively in a team.
  • Demonstrated results orientation, history of past accomplishments, ability to exercise sound judgment, set priorities, organize and implement.
  • Effective computer skills, especially with conducting online research, preparation of spreadsheets and power point presentations and word processing as well as strong Workday experience.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS  

  • CEBS certification.
  • Previous corporate benefits experience to include planning, designing and implementing corporate benefit plans.
  • Previous experience in a corporate Human Resources environment.
  • 4 years Employee Benefits experience in administering health/dental/life coverages and other benefit options such as PTO and disability management.

~ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ~

  • Assist in planning, design and implementation of corporate benefits programs that provide value to employees, cost-effective and meet corporate business objectives.
  • Assist in researching and interpreting industry and government developments as they impact company benefits, analyzing trends and developing benefits strategy.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with government regulations including, but not limited to, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA and FMLA.
  • Oversee communication of benefit programs and policies to employees through varied mediums including, but not limited to, summary plan descriptions, certificate and benefit booklets, employee handbooks, policy manuals, memorandums and web sites.
  • Assist in due diligence in times of acquisition and in benefit integration.
  • Obtain and analyze vendor benefit proposals; coordinate implementation of new programs.
  • Assist with directing and planning of annual enrollment process; oversee annual enrollment including implementation of plan changes, system modifications and employee and vendor communications.
  • Participate in employee benefits surveys.
  • Interpret benefit policies in response to benefit specialist questions.
  • Assist with retiree benefit plans including Group Medicare Plans and rates.
  • Strong Excel skills and Workday reporting needed for role.

Compensation: $60,300.00 - $133,400.00
