Job Summary This position is responsible for leading a Cloud database engineering and operations team and collaborating with Solutions Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, and Infrastructure Service Management teams in the design and build of infrastructure solutions/blueprints for area of responsibility; leading the design and build of repeatable patterns (build-kits) to improve deployment times for non-prod and prod environments; leading the life cycle management for the technology area of responsibility; transitioning knowledge to Infrastructure Operations; lead level 3 support for area of responsibility if required; supporting End User Compute, Collaboration, Network & Voice, and Distributed Software. In addition to the managerial duties, the incumbent will also provide technical expertise in the formulation and execution of cloud architecture. Will lead key architecture and cloud-based infrastructure decisions across organization. Developing processes, procedures, policies and standards for cloud and automation services; designing, building, and driving the implementation of infrastructure management tools for the organization.

NOTE:  This hybrid role can be located in CHICAGO IL or RICHARDSON TX ~ relocation will not be offered; sponsorship is not available.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field
  • 6 years in Information Technology with focus on Cloud Orchestration building and managing platforms in the cloud (AWS/Azure)
  • 3 years experience in Cloud technologies, automation.
  • 1 year of experience in IT Infrastructure & Operations management and/or leadership.
  • Experience with Cloud Orchestration and Management technologies
  • Experience with end-to-end configuration mgmt, continuous integration, continuous delivery, release engineering, provisioning
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as TerraForm, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
  • Experience migrating both custom built and enterprise apps to from on-prem to cloud
  • Working knowledge of Cosmos, PostGres and MS SQLServer PaaS offerings in the Microsoft Azure Public Cloud
  • Working knowledge of Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) to provision and administrate Cloud resources.
  • Experience implementing ARM templates for provisioning of Azure resources with focus on PaaS databases.
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) from a development and on-going maintenance perspective.
  • Working Knowledge of Operations Management, IT standards, procedures, policies.
  • Experience with As a Service technologies, Monitoring, Event Management technologies and Automation technologies
  • Experience with ITIL v3
  • Experience with PMO structures, processes, and methods
  • Experience with Demand / Portfolio and Resource Management
  • Ability to simplify & standardize complex concepts / processes and drive cross functional execution.
  • Adaptability and ability to introduce / manage change.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in information technology,  Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field.
  • Operations Management experience
  • Experience with EUC and Collaborations, e.g. Collaboration Technologies, O365, Lotus Notes.
  • Experience with Network and Voice, e.g. Network (data and voice) technologies, Software Defined Network, etc.
  • Experience with Distributed Software, e.g., Web Server (Apache, IIS, and other HTTP Servers), Application Server (WebSphere, Tomcat, Open Stack).
  • Experience with other As a Service technologies, ITIL v3 .
  • Understand and anticipate business priorities, trends and markets.
  • Adaptability and ability to introduce / manage change.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in supplier management
  • Ability to prioritize and make trade-off decisions.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
