Basic Function:
This position within Contract Administration's Employer Document Unit is responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders to draft and negotiate contract documents that govern the relationship between HCSC and its customers. The Employer Document Unit supports the Group market segment which consists of organizations that offer Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance to their employees. Other responsibilities include (1) contract drafting, issuance and negotiation of/for Group customers across HCSC's five-state service area (Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas); (2) Collaborating with internal business areas during contract negotiations and in the creation of new contract language; (3) Supporting the Proposals team to develop responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) related to new or renewing business opportunities; (4) Identifying departmental impacts resulting from the development of new products for the Group market segment, including the need to change or create contract language; (5) Communicating and explaining contract language to internal stakeholders; (6) Managing contract templates to ensure alignment with current operations; and (7) Managing contract status efficiently and accurately across multiple databases (e.g. JIRA, Salesforce).

Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor degree or 4 years work experience in a position involving independent judgment and initiative.
*PC experience including Microsoft Office.
*Experience in deadline driven environment and completing tasks on time.
*Judgment and problem resolution skills.
*Verbal and written communication skills to interface with staff from other departments, draft document language and handle issue resolution.

Preferred Qualifications:
*Knowledge of contract language and structure, with the ability to draft contractual documents
*Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of work experience, or J.D. degree or paralegal certificate with at least 1 year of work experience
*Proficient across Microsoft Office tools
*Ability to conduct document review activities, including running document/version comparisons in Microsoft Word and identifying any/all associated issues
*Ability to facilitate and manage meetings for internal stakeholders and customers
*Verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with key stakeholders across levels of the organization
*Knowledge of health insurance contract, claim administration agreement, and financial agreement development.
*1 year experience drafting contract language with minimal guidance
*Knowledge of fully-insured and self-funded health insurance contracts
*Experience with Salesforce and task management tools (e.g. JIRA, Trello)
*Experience working with the System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERFF)
