This position is responsible for leading continuous improvement, waste elimination and lean manufacturing methodologies throughout the facility and its processes. Provides significant input in identifying and prioritizing Continuous Improvement (CI) projects. Plans and conducts CI projects/activities, and supervises at least one direct report employee.


  • Develops a clear and compelling Continous Improvement Strategy for their location in close cooperation with Site Management and Director of Business Process Improvments
  • Works with Operations Management to identify opportunities for improvement, gathering data, analyzing and developing improvements and innovations, using statistical analyses and waste elimination techniques
  • Actively seeks and evaluates process improvements in the plant and translates them in CI projects helping to increase output and efficiency in the plant
  • Proposes and leads Continuous Improvement projects in the plant to achieve expected benefits and participates in and coordinates the development of CI project plans including assigning roles and responsibilities
  • Develops reports at plant level of all Continuous Improvement activities including accomplishments, participation, projected activities, and anticipated needs
  • Organizes, facilitates, documents and reports rapid improvement events
  • Works with business leadership to develop key performance measurements and reporting
  • Provides lean/CI training for production teams
  • Provides knowledge transfer, training and coaching on lean concepts and techniques
  • Teaches, demonstrates and coordinates Lean implementation and activities on the shop floor such as Kanban, Material Conveyance, Production flow, Super Market design and deployment, Value Stream Mapping, Takt time analysis, Problem-Solving, Standardized work, Set-up reduction, 5S, Visual Workplace, Error-Proofing, TPM, Visual Factory, Kaizen, scheduling, etc.
  • Assists plant value stream teams in sustaining gains achieved in lean efforts
  • Sets lean reporting (projects and financials) system, and reports regularly to Line and functional management
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned

  • BS/BA from accredited school preferred


  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing (fabrication and assembly) vironment leading and participating in Continuous Improvement events involving cross functional team members
  • Extensive experience in implementing improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and other recognized process improvement methodologies such as Value Stream mapping, Standard Work, Mitting, Pull Systems, Mistake proofing, Kanban
  • SAP and Wave Analytics experience a plus
