
Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in the assembly and testing of prototype and production units in accordance with engineering specifications and safety standards
- Interprets and works from engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Performs troubleshooting and root cause analysis on assemblies, components, and systems
- Documents build processes, test results, and modifications to maintain accurate records
- Collaborates with engineering staff and provides feedback on design improvements and manufacturability
- Maintains tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives in production and prototyping processes
- Ensures compliance with company quality standards and applicable industry regulations
- Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Adheres to all quality and safety standards
- Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
- Limited travel required

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 1 to 5 years of experience in Engineering support, production, and fabrication
- Ability to manage multiple projects and problem solve
- Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively with management and personnel at all levels
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work a varied schedule, willing to work overtime when necessary
- Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:
- Work is performed in a combination of office, laboratory, and production floor settings
- The production floor does not have a cooling system
- The sound level in the work environment may fluctuate due to noises associated with manufacturing process
- Regularly exposed to loud noises, dust, odors, oil, fumes, and fluctuations in temperature
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Performs all work in accordance with safety, workmanship and good housekeeping specifications
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee alternates between sitting and standing/walking for long periods of time
- Frequent lifting of up to 40 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, work overhead with arms, and sit or stand for several hours at a time
- Eye/hand coordination required, with steady and agile hands to operate equipment and tools
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required per plant rules.
TRAINING:
- New employee safety orientation and training on special tools or software required for job performance
