ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products (including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results)
- Program the various machinery and instruments using Autocad, CNC, and other programming languages, as needed
- Research the proper tools and/or machinery, methodologies and processes to improve production activities
- Develop work instructions/aids and train personnel
- Confer with management, engineering, and staff of other departments concerning product design, tooling, and production schedules to ensure efficient production methods and quality results
- Use statistical methods to perform product/process analysis for cost reduction and improve quality/efficiency of manufacturing processes
- Estimate material and labor costs of new and ongoing manufacturing processes and recommend to management the most efficient production methodologies
- Use of Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve the work flow layout, and improve the overall production processes
- Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of processes and related equipment
- Design, develop and test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of machinery and equipment according to specifications and quality standards
- Represent manufacturing/engineering on cross-functional teams
- Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Minimum five years related experience required; Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques
- Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment; machine tooling/design; experience with AutoCAD, ProE, or similar programs; CNC programming experience is desired
- Highly desirable experience and skills in:
- Establishment of K-factors to metal sheets
- Tig & Mig Weld techniques
- Weld certifications as CWI/CWE/CWS
- Thorough knowledge of AWS D requirements
- Performance of FMEA, and CAR reviews
- Strong knowledge in written product specifications
- Project Management: ability to organize and manage multiple products through manufacturing process
- Ability to maintain safe work environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and problem solve
- Ability to perform problem analysis and problem resolution
- Ability to work a varied schedule, willing to work overtime when necessary
- Ability to work with vendors, customers and employees
- Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively with management and personnel at all levels
- Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office). Must possess excellent skills with Microsoft Excel and Word

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Work is accomplished in a typical office environment with adequate environmental (heating/cooling) control. The noise level in the work environment is moderate due to noises associated with computer equipment and environmental control systems.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
- Access to operations and manufacturing areas may involve exposure to loud noises, dust, fumes, oils, and fluctuations in temperature.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee alternates between sitting and standing/walking for long periods of time
- This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds
- Able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed
