The AVP of Data Solutions is the strategy and operations-focused leader with the responsibility to enable HealthTrust's strategy from the ethical use of data assets, advanced analytics-driven insights, advanced automation, robust data quality, and sound data management practices. This leader partners closely with the AVP of IT Data Solutions to co-lead the Data Solutions Team.

The Data Solutions leader possesses a proven track record of delivering successful data strategies, data management, leadership, and IT systems and tools to hospital systems from a supply chain operator point of view.

Data Strategy
  • Senior-most leader with authority, responsibility, and accountability to:

    • Lead the vision, strategy, governance, and culture that elevates and protects data as a key asset

    • Enhance data assets to support Customer Solutions and Sourcing Solutions objectives

    • Regularly advise P&T and HealthTrust senior leadership on overall data strategy

    • Data translator who understands business problems at the senior leadership level, forecasts issues that data should solve, and knows how to use data to solve them

  • Recommends new business opportunities (e.g., cost savings, revenue growth, margin improvement) based on data

  • Shifts the organization's data lens from a rear-view to present and predictive views, e.g., utilize data to improve the organization's visibility into forecasting supply chain availability/shortages, identifying the need for alternatives

  • Effectively communicates the status and importance of data initiatives, i.e., data value ambassador

  • Constantly scans the horizon for emerging data and analytics platforms, datasets, skills, and trends; ensures their timely introduction to HealthTrust to maintain a leadership position in the industry

  • Proficient with the latest industry trends in data science, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotic process automation

  • Has input on technology decisions, but defers to the Data Solutions technology leader who owns the advanced analytics and enterprise data warehouse teams and who is responsible for the actual development of Data Solutions technology (i.e., the “how”)

Pragmatic Operator
  • Brings a very pragmatic view of putting data to work; guards against pursing and refining data that can't be actionably realized into value

  • Proficient in identifying strategic, external data assets and capabilities that can be integrated with GPO data to create competitive advantages

  • Understands how to connect disparate data sources together to identify patterns, outliers, etc., and extract meaningful insights

  • Integrates data silos to establish and maintain single sources of truth

  • Oversees effective, lean data governance policies that enable delivering strategic value with data, including data privacy policies and complying with data protection regulations

  • Manages interactions with regulatory entities, security, privacy and the compliance organization to ensure compliance with all mandates; is knowledgeable about all applicable regulations

  • Directs the ingest, cleansing, recognizing, organizing, storage, management, analyzing, and protection of HealthTrust's data assets.  Owns all data quality-related issues.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

Supply Chain Operations
  • Experienced, on-the-ground leader with a proven track recordof driving change for hospitals and large orgs

  • Actively championed and led hospitals with the necessary change management for an MMIS data strategy.  Hands-on MMIS experience, including MMIS integrations and pain points.

  • Provided operational oversight for hospital supply chain operations and activities (financial, clinical, operational, etc.).  Deep understanding and experience with the dealings of daily exceptions.

  • Possesses a deep understanding of the available data assets and data capabilities in the industry that could be acquired and leveraged by HealthTrust to augment existing data assets

Product and Technology Mindset
  • Treats data as a product and has a solid understanding of our industry, business, and customers.

  • Partners closely with the strategy and operations leaders of Customer Solutions and Sourcing Solutions to conceptually understand how best to put data to work for our customers and sourcing

  • Leads and motivates a team of Data Solutions product managers in the development of data and advanced analytics products aligned with HealthTrust's strategy and targeted outcomes
