Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a privately-held company based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Compliance Coordinator within the Corporate HR Department. This full-time, hourly (non-exempt) position is located at Hobby Lobby's corporate campus in Oklahoma City. This position works closely with other members of the HR/Benefits/Leave/Legal Department.

Position Overview
This position provides administrative support in a team environment for Human Resources compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws. This position reports to the Compliance Supervisor.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform a broad range of administrative support responsibilities, including, but not limited to, creating and maintaining files (electronic and hard copy), preparing/distributing correspondence, compiling and reviewing data and training assignments, etc.
- Manage team phone and email inbox
- Complete compliance-related tasks independently and/or as a team member
- Communicate with managers regarding administrative policy/protocol pertaining to compliance and providing training/guidance as necessary
- Assist managers Company-wide with onboarding new and rehired employees
- Assist store auditors with new store sets ensuring all new stores remain compliant in hiring processes according to Company policies and federal I-9 regulations
- Administer state poster compliance and assist in other compliance initiatives
- Respond to inquiries or redirect inquiries to appropriate staff members
- Coordinate training assignments for employees according to state and federal regulations
- Conduct regular audits to identify and report potential compliance issues requiring follow-up or investigation
- Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned
- Required work on weekends, as needed
Requirements
Required experience, skills, and attributes:
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources
- Form I-9 and E-Verify knowledge and experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively and clearly communicate with employees, co-workers, other departments, vendors, and/or leadership
- Computer skills (including experience with web-based systems and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Experience with HRIS (human resources information systems) (SAP preferred)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to de-escalate difficult situations
- Basic flexibility and adaptability to change
- Ability to follow instructions
- Basic organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or equivalent related experience
This is not a remote position. Department hours are currently 8:30am to 5:00pm with ½-hour lunch, or 8:00am to 5:00pm with a 1-hour lunch. Evening and/or Saturday work may be required at times.
