This position will be responsible for helping the production supervisor run day-to-day operations efficiently. Will help establish and maintain procedures for meeting company and customer commitments, training, and leadership within area of responsibility. Ensure compliance to policies, procedures, processes, equipment (SOP's) and recommends improvement to direct supervisor. Understands the quality specification for each product being handled and trains workforce to meet and/or exceed those expectations. In support of cost control efforts, this role helps and resolves operation issues as well as management of support staff. Responsibilities: * Provides support to the production supervisor * Proven ability to multitask, set and manage priorities given by the production supervisor * Oversee production lines as directed by production supervisor * Train new workforce and provide coaching to production associates * Maintain all appropriate paperwork and reporting * Communicate with site Management to continually address any production issues, discuss production line improvements, handle labor issues, and correct packing and machine problems * Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed * Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices are understood by assigned team with full compliance * Maintain production line efficiency, quality, cleanliness, and safety * Ensure all associates are following safety guidelines and follow proper Personnel Protective Equipment * Identify workload inefficiencies and recommends reassignment of tasks * Correctly track and communicate progress throughout the shift * Properly inspect product to ensure company and customer requirements are met * Properly identify and timely communicate quality discrepancies, as necessary * Correctly maintains appropriate work documents * Maintains the cleanliness and order of work areas * Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality are job requirements * The ability to get along with others and non-violence is a job requirement to consistently promote a positive team environment * Plans coordinate and mentor a diverse culture of production associates to ensure efficient usage of materials, machines, resources, and manpower to increase plant productivity in food packaging lines while maintaining a safe working environment * Achieve performance standards with regards to safety, line utilization and quality * Create and manage the daily production shift staffing schedule as directed by production supervisor * Reviews the End-of-Shift production reporting process to assure all documentation, product and packaging returns are accurate * Provide necessary training needed for assigned Line Leads to meet all qualification requirements * Identify and implement process/procedure optimization and improvements * Support quality standards and guidelines within the Co-Pack Operation * Support in the Operations meeting huddle prior to each shift start and discuss line assignments, customer specifications and requirements * Other operational related activities or assignments as requested by production supervisor * Ability to read and understand customer product and packaging specifications * Other duties as assigned by production supervisor Safety of our associates has always been Our #1 priority.
