What are we looking for?
The Field Technician will support our ongoing special project in Northwest Indiana. We are currently seeking individuals who have their EPA Asbestos Inspector certification and or the ability to obtain it as well as an IDEM Asbestos Inspector license. All fees for training and licensing are paid for by Intertek-PSI. Special consideration will be given to any applicants who already have asbestos certifications and licenses along with refinery experience.
What you'll do:
- Assist our on-site team in providing state-of-the-art asbestos inspection services in support of our on-going project
- Perform third-party asbestos inspection and air monitoring and analysis per IDEM regulations during on-going asbestos abatement activities
- Work as a team to plan, coordinate and execute scopes of work for daily, weekly and monthly projects
- This position requires individuals to work on their feet most of the day and in all types of outdoor weather conditions

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 2+ years experience performing asbestos inspection / industrial hygiene sampling at a refinery environment
- Experience working with asbestos materials
- Asbestos awareness training/knowledge
- Must have EPA training and be able to obtain state asbestos licensing
- Willingness to learn and become fluent in regulatory requirements – EPA and OSHA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Ability to use tablets to assist in field inspection duties
- Must be able to adhere to company and client safety policies and procedures
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
- Performing asbestos abatement air sampling
- IDEM/IDPH Asbestos Inspector and Air Sampling Professional Licenses
