Senior FSQA Consultant  – Remote

What are we looking for?

The Senior FSQA Consultant is responsible for helping develop, implement, and train for world-class food safety and quality systems.  You will help clients build sustainable food safety and quality systems with consistent and audit-defensible practices for GFSI certification and sustainment.  A focus on regulatory compliance will be present as well.  This position will be a travel based position with travel likely to be required on a weekly basis.

What you'll do:

  • Complete professional consulting services for clients in the areas of SQF, BRCGS, or FSSC 22000 standards along with HACCP / Food Safety Plans creation or reassessments and other projects to assure compliance with regulatory and audit standards.

  • Help clients to prioritize safety, quality, productivity, and culture objectives for full optimization. 

  • Build excellent relationships with clients to meet their needs, continuously improve their food safety and quality systems and identify additional opportunities for products and services. 

  • Complete monthly calls with Advantage Program clients to help sustain their systems.

  • Conduct training seminars for Preventive Control for Human Food and HACCP as qualified.

  • Conduct audits for SQF, BRCGS or FSSC 22000 if credentialed with auditor certifications up to 25% of your schedule. 

  • Work closely with the Consulting Operations Manager and Business Development Team on project scheduling and upselling opportunities.

  • Support Marketing by participating in webinars, speaking engagements and blogs as needed. 

  • Utilize NetSuite to ensure accuracy in client account information, maintain scheduled calendar events and post weekly comments in NetSuite client visit summary reports.

  • Upload all client files into SharePoint within the established 7 day time frame and utilize the established GFSI programs provided in SharePoint to ensure consistent content and format implementation.

  • Utilize Expensify to manage expense reports and assure all travel card payments stay current.

  • Manage business associated tasks including client file documentation, processing of expenses, and travel calendars
  • Cross sell other Intertek Alchemy products and consulting services offerings during each client visit.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a variety of consulting, auditing, and training within the food industry.

  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory compliance with FDA and USDA standards

  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual and HACCP Certification

  • SQF, BRCGS and/or FSSC 22000 Certifications or knowledge

  • Background in project management/coordination is an asset

  • Business-to-business experience is considered an asset 

  • Moderate proficiency with NetSuite

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and rapport with clients

  • This is a remote position but will require the ability to travel up to 75%+.  

  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record is required.
  • This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Auditor certification in SQF and/or BRC 

  • ISO 9001 Certification 

  • Educational background in food science or food related degree is a plus

  • FSPCA Lead Instructor in the Preventive Controls for Human Food
  • Approved and active GFSI Auditor (SQF, BRCGS, etc.)
