Overview

The Sales Associate provides support to an assigned sales team.  This is a learning position, with the intent of building company knowledge, knowledge of the sales process and systems, demonstrating an aptitude, motivation, and desire to advance as a sales professional.

The Sales Associate will be learning to use professional concepts and will apply guidance of other Sales professionals, professional concepts, or company policies and procedures to execute work and resolve routine issues. The Sales Associate works under specific direction on new tasks/assignments, and with limited supervision on routine tasks.

The Sales Associate position is ideal for someone looking to move into a quota carrying direct Account Executive role in the future with responsibilities such as daily prospecting, qualifying new customer opportunities, conducting deep discovery and mapping customer business pains to the Intralinks solutions but would like to start off first in a sales support role to acquire knowledge of the business and the products as well as the sale skills required to be a successful Account Executive.    

About the Team:

The Japan team is part of the Asia-Pacific business unit and has shown strong growth over the past 12 months and continues to meet expanding sales targets.  As part of the Asia-Pacific business unit, the Japan team is focused on increasing both revenue and market share and cementing a number one market position in the region.

Responsibilities:

Provide Sales Managers and Account Executives with administrative support to achieve sales targets:

  • Compile and distribute client proposals
  • Screen phone calls
  • Manage RFP responses
  • Assist with CRM data management
  • Assist in planning client events and meetings
  • Coordinate with Legal regarding contract proposals, extensions, and amendments creation and processing
  • Coordinate resolution of credits and billing issues with Finance
  • Provide Page Count Verification
  • Facilitate DVD requests
  • Facilitate requests to shut down exchanges

Sales Associates interact with contacts and information of a sensitive, complex, and sometimes confidential nature both inside and outside of the company, requiring exceptional judgment and discretion. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in administration and business support; some sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task, priorities, organize and work within tight timelines
  • Ability to handle high pressure, fast paced situations
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • IT and internet savvy
  • Knowledge of general office practice and business etiquette
  • Experience in a professional sales environment preferred
  • Experience or knowledge of the financial services industry would be a plus
  • Good judgment, able to handle confidential information
  • Professional competency in English & Japanese
