PURPOSE OF POSITION:
- The Employee Transportation Driver will be responsible for transporting employees to and from the designated locations and job sites in a professional, safe and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate a company-owned passenger van or vehicle while following all Iowa DMV, state and federal laws and maintaining consistent reliable pick up and drop off routes to and from job sites and other locations.
- This position will require flexible availability throughout the day as there will be early and afternoon routes with a rotation of evening and weekend shifts.
- Maintain a consistent schedule for non-work related transportation routes which requires safely transporting employees and potentially their families to and from specific locations such as but not limited to:
- Pick up employees from the Des Moines airport who are arriving to the US (typically an evening route)
- Transport employees to and from the Social Security office
- Transport employees to and from the Drivers' License station
- Transport employees and potentially their families to and from grocery/retail stores
- Pick up, deliver, and organize supplies from the warehouse to the housing units to ensure they are fully prepared for incoming employee groups.
- Build, assemble, and disassemble furniture and other items moved in and out of housing locations.
- Ensure housing units are thoroughly cleaned and reset between employee groups in preparation for incoming occupants.
- This position requires availability for on-call deliveries and for providing route assistance as needed.
- The driver will wash the vehicle as weather and operating conditions require to maintain a clean vehicle.
- The driver will follow the regular vehicle maintenance schedule as outlined by their supervisor along with report any necessary repairs and/or special maintenance needs
- The driver will follow the transportation schedule as assigned by their supervisor. If the driver is unable to work a scheduled shift, it is their responsibility to secure coverage and maintain communication with their direct supervisor.
- Must be present and prepared to work at the start of each scheduled shift. Consistent attendance is essential, as Iowa Select Farms employees depend on this position for transportation.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- No direct supervisory responsibilities for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position is performed primarily indoors whether that be inside a vehicle and/or a housing unit with minimal outdoor work-related tasks.
- This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- This role does provide a company cell phone to stay current on communication and schedules so basic mobile phone and email skills are required.
PHYSICALITY REQUIREMENTS
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
- The employee must be able to continuously repeat necessary movements such as bending, lifting and different hand movements as needed to complete tasks
- Ability to frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must have the ability to sit and drive a vehicle for prolonged periods of time.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This is a part-time position.
- Part time hours cannot exceed an average of 30 hours per week over the year's timeframe.
- The scheduling and hours of a part-time employee are determined based off employee availability along with farm/department needs.
- Expected days and hours of operation include day shift hours with occasional evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
TRAVEL
- Regular travel will be required throughout the week to Iowa Select Farms' sites and other various locations which may be local and/or out-of-area with no overnight travel.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual: Preferred
- Education/ Experience: No Experience or specific education required
- Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
