Key Purpose


The Director of Business Development will identify, attract, and close new business and expanded business opportunities. He/She/They will focus on increasing new sales of monthly contracts, extras, and retention of existing clients.


The Director of Business Development  will provide customers with clear and easy-to-understand information regarding all phases of our service offerings. He/She/They will deliver and follow up on proposal packages to ensure clients have enough information to make an informed decision.

Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence

· Support the ISS Guckenheimer North America team, and matrixed reporting to Guckenheimer CEO and to the ISS Commercial Lead

· Align closely and collaborate with the culinary, operations, communication and marketing, and sales teams to ensure clear and consistent messaging and brand standards


Ideal Candidate Experience

· Bachelor or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or similar

· 10 + years of relevant career experience in a Business Development/Sales role in onsite dining, restaurants, hospitality, and/or similar food and beverage environments; outsourcing/consulting industry, or other integrated facilities industries

· Experience with food and beverage driven brand and concept development

· Must possess high level, executive communication and pursuit management skills

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

· Must be able to communicate through using influence at senior levels of the organization

· Must possess a strong financial acumen, and a history of solving for financial concerns, with the ability to deliver revenue and margin

· Must have ability to see/visualize what is needed that does not exist currently

· Must be able to define solutions for current state, and be able to identify how to streamline (solution) to meet company needs


Key Accountabilities

· Build market position by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationship

· Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements

· Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners

· Discover and explore business opportunities

· Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and financials

· Evaluate options and resolve internal priorities

·Recommend equity investments

· Develop negotiating strategies and position by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations

· Examine risk and potential for the business opportunities

· Estimate partners' needs and goals

· Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; and integrating contract requirements with business operations

· Protect ISS/Guckenheimer's value by keeping information confidential

· Enhance ISS/Guckenheimer's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests

· Explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments


Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time

· Must be able to travel


ISS offers full-time employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The annual salary range for this position is $150000 per year - $175000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the above range.
