We have immediate opportunities for SQL Server & Data Platform Solution Architect to join our team as Customer Engineers (CE's). This is a salaried role with great benefits and a fantastic team. A CE's time is dedicated to working with some of the largest, and most sophisticated companies in the world, usually F1000. You will be responsible for customer satisfaction, deployment, adoption, and support of SQL initiatives. They work with and assist customers in building, operating, and optimizing complex enterprise environments. CE's are trusted advisors, providing guidance, education and adherence for best practices, risk mitigation etc.
CE's are home based and typically deliver services via Microsoft Teams.
Salary Range: $100K - $120K based on experience
Primary work includes:
- Standard Product Work Shops - Training
- In-Depth Product Reviews - White Board (Chalk Talk) Session
- Health Checks / Assessments
- Post Operational Review of Product Implementations
- Product Upgrade / Migration Assessments
- Systems Performance Reviews
- Act as the primary technical contact, providing customer visibility, advanced technical support, and problem resolution for corporate customers, including issues raised to the highest levels of management
Skills/ Job expertise needed:
Enterprise level support and administration focused specifically on:
o SQL performance and tuning optimization, Clustering, Always On Availability groups, High Availability, Core SQL +Migration, on-premises and cloud.
o SQL Server on IaaS experience on Azure/ Other public cloud required.
o All versions of SQL Server (2012 and onwards)
o Solving performance problems, query tuning, and optimization
o Architectural experience for Data Platform
o Architecting for High Availability and Disaster recovery solutions using FCI, Always on Availability groups
o Azure data factory, Azure SQLDB, Azure SQLDB Managed Instance, Azure Synapse knowledge is a plus.
o Delivering and/or authoring technical training
o SQL Server Integration Services, Reporting Services, Analysis Services
o Power BI experience and knowledge are a plus.
o Advanced Microsoft certifications preferred.
o Previous Consulting and/or customer facing role.
Technical Skills:
o Data modeling and database design.
o Indexing strategy
o Performance Optimization and Tuning Capabilities
o Partitioning data implementations
o Metadata management and repository usage.
o Database schema creation and management.
o Backup and recovery.
o Ensuring data integrity.
o Ensuring High availability and Disaster recovery.
o SQL code reviews with ability to dissect query plan, T-SQL code
o Procedural skills.
o Data security.
o Data Encryption
o Auditing
o Replication of data
o SQL Edition and version differences with discontinued and deprecated features
o Upgrade process.
o Storage management techniques.
o Data Engine Capacity planning.
o General database management, Policy based management.
o Extended events and Traces
o Basic Licensing and support scenarios
o Windows Failover Clustering
o SQL Server Reporting service
o SQL server Integration Service
o SQL Server Analysis Service
o Power Shell
Additional Skill - SSAS skills – Cube building, MDX query writing and tuning, SSAS Performance, health checks is a plus.
