• Accurately and efficiently performs specimen collections and testing as defined by laboratory policy and procedure manuals. Computer data entry and workflow monitoring. Assesses environment to assure patient safety and determines appropriate equipment to use that meet the patient's needs. Maintains chain of custody for forensic collections. Maintains HRP and pending log lists. Organizes work flow to improve efficiency. Answers phones, faxes reports, maintains phlebotomy inventory. Maintains a clean environment. May drive to offsite locations for specimen collections. Performs point of care testings. Understands quality control and expected results for POCT tests performed. May process microbiology specimens. Trains students and new staff as requested by supervisor.
